JOANNE MCDONALD

My art is a response to everyday life as I see it, the people I socialise with and see when I’m at work or in public.

My work is figurative; I observe the human body mostly in situations when seated or standing, waiting and in thought.

I find that this is when the subject is most honest and candid.

The stance, slouch, tilt of head position of hands, and the gestures of the subject give insight to the possibilities of what they are thinking or feeling.

My curiosity seeks to read and then narrate story they have.

‘’ The voice unheard is loud, the loud voice is silent.’’
